Väisälänmäki is one of 27 national landscapes in Finland. National landscapes reflect the starting points of our culture and represent the traditional natural sights , use of the land and its effects on the landscape.
The Culture and Nature Path of Väisälänmäki is 3,5 km long. There you will find for instance the outlook tower, toilets, guiding boards and a fireplace. The path is not suitable for sick people, wheelchairs or chidren's push chairs. Disabled people have access to the hillside cafe along the service road.
Väisälänmäki represents a typical hill settlement of Northern Savo. The village is half open and hilly cultivation and animal husbandry scenery. The traces of burnt-over clearing are still visible. The buildings are situated along a village road on the hillside.
